Yuri Foreman lost by 6th round RTD against Polish Pawel Wolak (29-1-0, 19 KOs) in a vacant NABF light middleweight title fight on the undercard of Cotto vs Mayorga on Saturday, March 12, 2011 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. Wolak pressured Foreman hitting him with big shots, Foreman not a power puncher couldn't keep Wolak off of him. Foreman's corner had seen enough and at the end of round six stopped the fight. The bout was Foreman's first time back in the ring since suffering a knee injury in his fight with Miguel Cotto in June 2010 which required reconstructive surgery and months of rehabilitation.

Yuri Foreman
Yuri Foreman, future rabbi having begun boxing at the age of 7 in Belarus when it was part of the Soviet Union immigrated to Israel a couple of years later and boxed in Arab gyms. As an amateur Foreman compiled a record of 76-5 winning the Israeli National Championship three times and the 2001 New York Daily News Golden Gloves 156 pound Open Championship.
Yuri Foreman made his pro debut on January 24, 2002 at the Park Central Hotel in New York where he fought Israel Felix (1-2-0) beating him by 1st round TKO. Felix was down but beat the count on unsteady legs and the fight was stopped at 2:15 of round one.
On Saturday, June 9, 2007 Yuri Foreman fought and beat Philadelphian Anthony Thompson (23-2-0, 17 KOs) by 10-round split decision on the undercard of Miguel Angel Cotto vs Zab Judah at Madison Square Garden in New York. Scores were 97-93, 96-94 and 94-96.
Yuri Foreman fought his first title fight on Thursday, December 6, 2007 at the Paradise Theater in Bronx, New York where he beat Andrey Tsurkan (25-3-0, 16 KOs) by 10-round split decision and captured Tsurkan's NABF light middleweight title. Scores were 96-94, 96-94 and 94-96. Foreman landed 39% of his punches compared to Tsurkan's 25%.
In his next fight on April 3, 2008 at the Aviator Sports Arena in Brooklyn, New York, Yuri Foreman successfully defended his NABF light middleweight title beating Mexican Saul Roman (28-5-0, 24 KOs) by 10-round unanimous decision. Scores were 98-92, 98-92 and 97-93. The fight was marred by accidental headbutts.
Yuri Foreman continued on his winning streak beating Vinroy Barrett (22-7-0, 11 KOs) by 10-round unanimous decision on October 10, 2008 at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey. On December 13, 2008 also at Boardwalk Hall Foreman made his 2nd successful defense of his NABF light middleweight title by beating Irish James Moore (16-2-0, 10 KOs) by 10-round unanimous decision in a near-shutout. Scores were 100-90, 99-91 and 99-90.
On Saturday, June 27, 2009 at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey, Yuri Foreman fought Cornelius Bundrage (29-4-0, 17 KOs) in an IBF light middleweight title eliminator fight. The fight was declared a no-contest because Foreman was badly cut over his right eye from an accidental headbutt in the 3rd round and was unable to continue.
Yuri Foreman in his best performance yet dominated and beat Puerto Rican Daniel Santos (32-4-1, 23 KOs) by 12-round unanimous decision on the undercard of Pacquio vs Cotto on Saturday, November 14, 2009 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. Foreman dropped Santos in rounds two and twelve and went on to capture his WBA World light middleweight title. Scores were 117-109, 117-109 and 116-110.
Foreman lost by 9th round TKO to former welterweight champion and now new WBA World light middleweight champion Puerto Rican Miguel Angel Cotto (35-2-0, 28 KOs) on Saturday, June 5, 2010 before a crowd of 20,272 at Yankee Stadium in Bronx, New York. In round seven Foreman's right knee gave out causing him to become a one legged fighter. In round eight Foreman's corner threw the towel in. Referee Arthur Mercante Jr. threw the towel back out and allowed the fight to continue. Foreman did not want the fight to be stopped. In round nine Cotto hit Foreman with a left body shot which took the legs out from under him and the fight was waved off at 0:42.
