Vitali Klitschko defeated Polish Tomasz Adamek (42-2-0, 28 KOs) by 10th round TKO in a WBC heavyweight title on Saturday, September 10, 2011 in Poland. Referee Massimo Barrovecchio waved off the fight at 2:20 of round ten with Adamek taking too many punches. Klitschko's height and reach advantage allowed him to control the fight from start to finish and prevented Adamek from landing punches.

Vitali "Dr" Klitschko
Vitali Klitschko, the current WBC heavyweight champion is the older brother of IBF and WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko. Vitali formerly held the WBO, WBC and Ring heavyweight titles before retiring in 2005 after suffering knee, thigh and back injuries which caused cancellations of multiple fights.
On December 20, 2005 Vitali Klitschko was declared the Champion Emeritus by the WBC which allowed him to become the WBC mandatory challenger if chose to come out of retirement. The reasoning was that Klitschko never lost his title in the ring. This honorary status allowed Vitali to fight Samuel Peter for the WBC heavyweight title on October 11, 2008 despite having not fought since December 11, 2004.
Vitali Klitschko won the vacant WBC and Ring heavyweight titles beating Corrie Sanders by 8th round TKO on Saturday, April 24, 2004 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. The referee stopped the bout at 2:46 to spar Sanders further injury as Sanders fighting on heart refused to go down despite getting hit with big lefts and rights from Klitschko.
Klitschko vs Williams
Vitali Klitschko successfully defended his WBC and Ring heavyweight titles beating Danny Williams by 8th round TKO on Saturday, December 11, 2004 at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, Nevada. Williams was down in the rounds one, three, seven and eight.
Klitschko beat Samuel Peter (30-2-0, 23 KOs) by 8th round TKO on Saturday, October 11, 2008 at the O2 World Arena in Berlin, Germany. After being repeatidly hit in the face and head by Vitali's long left jabs and left right combinations Peter retired on his stool. Vitali Klitschko reclaimed his WBC heavyweight title and fulfilled his dream to hold a heavyweight title at the same time as his younger brother Wladimir.
Vitali Klitschko beat Cuban defector Juan Carlos Gomez (44-2-0, 35 KOs) by 9th round TKO in a mandatory WBC heavyweight title fight on Saturday, March 21, 2009 at the Hanns-Martin-Schleyer Halle in Stuttgart, Germany. Klitschko also lost a point for an unintentional headbutt in round nine that opened up a cut above the left eye of Gomez (this WBC rule doesn't apply in the US). Gomez, whose right eye was almost closed shut from a cut suffered in round five was down in rounds seven and nine prior to the referee stopping the bout after Klitschko made a follow up attack on Gomez.
Klitschko beat Chris Arreola (27-1-0, 24 KOs) by 10th round TKO in a WBC heavyweight title fight on Saturday, September 26, 2009 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. Referee Jon Schorle stopped the one sided fight at 3:00 of round ten. Klitschko controlled every round. He fought on the outside using his 3 inch height and reach advantage, movement, his long jab, straight rights and upper cuts to keep Arreola from getting inside. Vitali had previously fought twice at the Staples Center, once in 2003 losing to Lennox Lewis by 6th round TKO and once in 2004 beating Corrie Sanders by 8th round TKO.
Klitschko beat previously undefeated Kevin Johnson (22-1-1, 9 KOs) by 12-round unanimous decision in a total snoozer on Saturday, December 12, 2009 at the PostFinance Arena in Berne, Switzerland. The judges scores were 120-108, 120-108 and 119-109. Klitschko was not able to knockout Johnson who fought well defensively rolling his shoulder and using his jab. It was Klitschko's 3rd successful defence of his WBC heavyweight title.
On Saturday, May 29, 2010 at the Veltins Arena in Gelsenkirchen, Germany, Vitali Klitschko beat Polish Albert Sosnowski (45-3-1, 27 KOs) of the UK by 10th round KO in a WBC heavyweight title fight. Klitschko landed numerous shots in round nine and went for the kill in round ten sending Sosnowski to the canvas. Referee Jay Nady waved off the bout at 2:20 with Sosnowski glassy eyed. It was Klitschko's fourth successful WBC heavyweight title defense.
Klitschko beat Shannon Briggs (51-6-1, 45 KOs) by 12-round unanimous decision in a WBC heavyweight title fight on Saturday, October 16, 2010 at the O2 World Arena in Altona, Hamburg, Germany. Scores were 120-107, 120-107 and 120-105. Vitali punished Briggs for 12 rounds hitting him with right hands, left hooks and right hooks seemingly at will but he was never able to knock Briggs down. Briggs shook Vitali in round four with a big right but Klitschko retaliated and paid him back for the rest of the round. After the bout Klitschko praised Briggs for having a huge heart. The beat down Klitschko gave Briggs ended up putting Shannon in the ICU at the University Hospital Eppendorf in Hamburg with a concussion, orbital fractures, broken nose and badly torn bicep which will require surgery.
Klitschko, in the 6th defense of his current WBC heavyweight title beat previously undefeated Odlanier Solis (17-1-0, 12 KOs) at 3:00 of round one by knockout on Saturday, March 19, 2011 at the Lanxess Arena in Koln, Germany. Vitali hit Solis with a right hand to the head wobbling him and sending him stubbling backwards and onto the canvas. Solis beat the count but was unable to continue. Vitali said it was the punch that sent Solis to the canvas and also thought that Solis was looking for a way out of the fight but Solis said it was a twisted knee. Doctors at the hospital post fight confirmed that Solis had suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament and torn meniscus which will require surgery.
