USA Boxing, having won 108 medals ranked number one among all nations competing in the 2008 Beijing Olympics Summer Games in China. But the USA Boxing Team only took one medal at the XXIX Olympic Games and that was a bronze won by heavyweight Deontay Wilder. 2008 was the worst USA Boxing Team in history as far as medals are concerned. The only other year that was near as bad was in 1948 when the USA Boxing Team only won a silver medal. (In 1908 there were none because we didn't send a team to London and in 1980 the United States boycotted the Moscow Olympics.) The current inherently flawed Olympic boxing computer scoring system requiring three judges to push the same colored button within one second for a scoring punch to be tallied doesn't help either.
