Star of the Desert Arena

Terrible's Star of the Desert Arena is located at Buffalo Bill's, one of three casinos in Primm, Nevada. Primm is a tiny desert community straddling Interstate 15 as it crosses the California-Nevada border about 35 miles south of Las Vegas. Up until the late 1990s Primm was informally known as State Line and is often called Primm Valley, after one of its other casinos.

Buffalo Bill's, the second casino in Primm opened in 1994 and hosted its first fight card on Saturday, April 1, 1995. There were several title fights on the card. One bout headlined Ricardo Lopez (51-0-1, 38 KOs), who was one of the few select fighters to retire undefeated as a world champion in 2001. Another bout headlined Virgil Hill (50-7-0, 23 KOs), who holds the record for most title defenses of any active champion. »

Primm Boxing (continued)
Buffalo Bill's held three fights in 1995 including one with Eric "Butterbean" Esch on the card and one fight in 1997. In May 2008 Primm hosted its first fightcard in over ten years. It was a tripleheader promoted by Gary Shaw nationally televised on HBO. The card headlined top prospects James Kirkland, former Olympian Alfredo Angulo and Cuban defector Olympic gold medalist Yuriorkis Gamboa with a combined record of 45-0. Since May, boxing has become a regular event at Star of the Desert Arena with Gary Shaw Promotions, Golden Boy Promotions and Bob Arum of Top Rank each promoting fights there.
