The Silver Nugget Casino opened in 1964 is located on North Las Vegas Blvd between Lake Mead Blvd and Civic Center Dr in North Las Vegas about two miles north of downtown Las Vegas. As part of a multi-million dollar renovation project to bring the casino up to par with newer larger neighborhood casinos the Silver Nugget recently remodeled its 14,000 square feet Event Center.
With a desire to bring boxing back to North Las Vegas the Silver Nugget plans on hosting monthly fights on regular basis promoted by Hall of Fame boxing referee Richard Steele in its newly remodeled Silver Nugget Event Center. On September 30, 2008 the Silver Nugget launched its Silver Nugget Fight Club hosting its first fight card in more than a decade.
