Shane Mosley vowing to go toe-to-toe with Manny Pacquiao (54-3-2, 38 KOs) lost by 12-round uanimous decision in a WBO welterweight title fight on Saturday, May 7, 2011 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. Scores were 107-120, 108-120 and 108-119. Mosley was down in round three from a straight left and from that round on fought in the defensive mode, backpedaling, clinching and unwilling to let his hands go. Punch stats revealed that Mosley only threw 5 combinations in twelve rounds. In round ten referee Kenny Bayless made a wrong call and credited Mosley for a knockdown but replays showed that Mosley had actually pushed Pacquaio down. After the fight Mosley said that Manny Pacquiao's speed and power was unparalleled.

Shane "Sugar" Mosley
Shane Mosley is a former 1992 US light welterweight amateur champion and winner of the 2000 World Boxing Hall of Fame Fighter of the year award. On September 22 2007, Mosley was inducteed into the boxer category of the 2007 Californa Boxing Hall of Fame.
Mosley is the only boxer to have beaten Oscar De La Hoya twice garnering him respect from the boxing world. Then Mosley went on to lose twice to Winky Wright in 2004 fading his boxing star status.

Mosley knocked Mayorga down two times in the 12th round ending the fight with a dramatic KO. In addition to his victory Mosley captured the vacant WBA Inter-Continental light middleweight title.
Shane Mosley beat Antonio Margarito (37-6-0, 27 KOs) by 9th round TKO on Saturday, January 24, 2009 at Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. In addition to his victory Sugar Shane captured Margarito's WBA welterweight title.
Mosley lost to Floyd Mayweather (41-0-0, 25 KOs) by 12-round unanimous decision in a welterweight fight on Saturday, May 1, 2010 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Scores read 109-119, 109-119 and 110-118. Mosley looked good in the first two rounds and even rocked Mayweather with a couple of big right hands that made it look like Mayweather was going to go down but Mayweather held on to Mosley and made it through the round. From rounds three to twelve Mosley struggled to let his hands go getting off too late and it was Mayweather who was landing the most effective punches.
Shane Mosley fought to a split draw with Sergio Mora (22-1-2, 6 KOs) in a light middleweight bout on Saturday, September 18, 2010 at Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. The judges scorecards read 116-112, 114-114 and 113-115. Mosley was coming off a 12-round unanimous decision loss to Floyd Mayweather Jr in May 2010 and Mora was coming off a 7th round TKO win over Calvin Green in his first fight back since losing his WBC light middleweight title to Vernon Forrest by unanimous decision in September 2008. Mosley vs Mora headlined the HBO PPV fight card promoted by Golden Boy Promotions.
