Sergio Mora defeated former world title challenger Jose Alfredo Flores (45-12-0, 26 KOs) by TKO at 3:00 of round seven in middleweight fight on Friday, November 4, 2011 at Fantasy Springs Resort & Casino in Indio, California. Flores' corner stopped the fight after Mora unloaded on Flores at the end of round seven. Flores has now lost two of his four comeback fights since returning to the ring in 2010 after an 8 year layoff. Mora was coming off a controversial split decision loss to Brian Vera in February 2011. After his win over Flores, Mora called out Sergio Martinez.

Sergio "The Latin Snake" Mora
Sergio Mora, from Los Angeles, California began boxing when he was 15 years old. Mora qualified for the 2000 Olympic trials, losing to Olympic favorite, Jermain Taylor by a couple of points. After the Olympics trials at age 19 Mora turned professional boxer. At 21 years old he was hired to spar with Fernando Vargas. Vargas and his manager also put Mora on three of their undercards. In 2005 Mora auditioned for The Contender boxing reality show becoming one of its 16 member cast. Mora went on to win the season finale and $1 million dollar purse.
On May 24, 2005 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada Sergio Mora beat Peter Manfredo Jr by unanimous decision in The Contenders 7 round championship bout winning the $1,000,000 prize. Mora and Manfredo Jr fought a second time on October 15, 2005 in Los Angeles, California at the Staples Center where Mora won an 8th round split decision victory over Manfredo Jr.

On Thursday, May 4, 2006 at the Aladdin Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, Sergio Mora beat Archak TerMeliksetian by 7th round TKO. Mora had suffered the first knockdown of his career in round two. Mora went on to beat Sacramento hometown hero Eric Regan by a lopsided 10-round unanimous decision at the Arco Arena in Sacramento, California on Friday, August 25, 2006. From there on Tuesday, October 16, 2007 at the Home Depot Center in Carson, California fighting Mora fought to a 10-round draw with Elvin Ayala in a bout on the Gomez-Tackie undercard.
The undefeated Sergio Mora kept his "O" beating former middleweight title holder Rito Ruvalcaba (32-9-0, 28 KOs) by 6th round TKO at the Morongo Casino in Cabazon, California on Friday, January 11, 2008. Mora was pounding on Ruvalcaba in the corner when the referee jumped in to stop the fight falling in the process while the Mora and Ruvalcaba kept fighting. Ruvalcaba had not fought since his loss to Jose Luis Zertuche by 1st round KO in 2004.

Sergio Mora beat Vernon Forrest (40-3-0, 29 KOs) by 12-round majority decision on Saturday, June 7, 2008 at the Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, Connecticut. The Forrest-Mora scorecard read 116-112, 115-113 and 114-114. Along with the win Mora captured Forrest's WBC light middleweight title.
Mora, winner of The Contender show in its first season was also the first boxer from series to win a world championship title. Mora dropped down to light middleweight to challenge Forrest after not being able to secure a fight with a name opponent at middleweight.
Sergio Mora lost to Vernon Forrest (41-3-0, 29 KOs) by 12-round unanimous decision on Saturday, September 13, 2008 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. Fighting as a co-feature on the Casamayor-Marquez card, Mora lost his "O" by scores of 110-117, 108-119 and 109-118. In addition to suffering his first professional defeat Mora also lost his WBC light middleweight title to Forrest.
Mora beat Calvin Green (21-5-1, 13 KOs) by 7th round TKO on Saturday, April 3, 2010 on the undercard of Hopkins vs Jones at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, Nevada. The stoppage came at 1:50 of round seven as Mora was landing combinations on Green who was tiring. Mora had not fought since losing a 12-round unanimous decision and his WBC light middleweight title to the late Vernon Forrest in September 2008.
On Saturday, September 18, 2010 at Staples Center in Los Angeles, California, Sergio Mora fought to a split draw against Shane Mosley (46-6-1, 39 KOs) in a light middleweight fight . Scores were 115-113, 114-114 and 112-116. Mosley was coming off a 12-round unanimous decision loss to Floyd Mayweather Jr in May 2010 and Mora was coming off a 7th round stoppage by TKO over Calvin Green in April 2010. Mosley vs Mora headlined the HBO PPV fight card promoted by Golden Boy.
Sergio Mora lost to Brian Vera (18-5-0, 11 KOs) by 10-round split decision on ESPN Friday Night Fights at the Fort Worth Convention Center Arena in Fort Worth, Texas on Friday, February 4, 2011. Scores were 96-94, 94-96 and 94-96 with Vera pulling off an upset. Vera fought aggressively applying pressure throughout the bout. Mora, who suffered cuts over both eyes fought well defensively came on strong in the later rounds.
