Sam Soliman Tickets

Sam Soliman won The Contender bronze metal in a 6-round super middleweight bout by unanimous decision over Wayne Johnsen on November 6, 2007 at TD Banknorth Garden in Boston, Massachusetts on season 3's Contender Finale undercard. Prior to being a contestant on The Contender on March 7, 2007 in Syndey, Solimon had lost a fight to Anthony Mundine by 9th round KO after being downed once in round two and three times in round nine (the 3 knockdown rule was in effect). Before his fight with Mundine, Solimon had won a 10-round MD over middleweight Enrique Ornelas at the Soboba Casino in San Jacinto on November 17, 2006. Ornelas suffered a large gash over his left eye by an unintentional headbutt in the 4th round and Soliman stumbled to the canvas which was ruled a knock-down. Soliman had a big 6th round and poured it on for the rest of the bout winning by a close majority decision.

Sam Soliman caught the crowds attention in the US on December 10, 2005 when he fought Winky Wright at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville. Although Soliman lost to Wright by a 12 round unanimous decision he got a standing ovation. Soliman, a bundle of energy threw 1,260 punches during the fight which was twice as many as Winky but landed 32 percent less. An awkward and elusive fighter Soliman proved not to be an easy win for Wright.

Soliman was supposed to fight Enrique Ornelas on August 18, 2006 at Pechanga Casino in Temecula but Soliman hurt his back while training so Ornelas fought and stopped Raul Munoz in the 1st round by TKO. Soliman had previously fought and won a fight against Munoz by 6th round TKO.
