The Bohol slugger was previously undefeated, coming off a sensational 12-round unanimous decision win over Sergio Manuel Medina on the undercard of the Oscar de la Hoya-Floyd Mayweather Jr fight May 5, 2007. Unfortunately Bautista got wobbled when he got caught with a hard left from Ponce De Leon and suffered his first career loss. The 2007 World Cup of Boxing ended up 1 Mexico, 5 Philipines.
