Oscar De La Hoya Tickets

Oscar De La Hoya (39-5-0, 30 KOs) won a 12-round unanimous decision by scores of 120-108, 119-109 and 119-109 over former Contender contestant Steve Forbes (33-6-0, 9 KOs) on Saturday, May 3, 2008 at the Home Depot Center in Carson, California. Now with a tune-up fight under his belt De La Hoya looks forward to his rematch with Floyd Mayweather Jr this September. I don't know how many hardcore boxing fans are though. The only thing that makes the bout look interesting is that Floyd Mayweather Sr will be in De La Hoya's corner.

Ringside Las Vegas: On Saturday, May 6, 2006 at the MGM Grand Oscar De La Hoya took out the trash when he knocked out trash talking Ricardo "El Matador" Mayorga in the 6th round. Mayorga was down one minute into the 1st round by a huge left hook. In the 6th round De La Hoya scored a devastating knockout. De La Hoya let lose with a combination of punches to Mayorga's ribs and face finishing him off with a left hook followed by a right on the jaw. Mayorga get up only to be hammered by a volley of punches of unanswered punches that caused Referee Jay Nady to stop the fight.

Ringside Las Vegas: Oscar De La Hoya lost his fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr by 12-round split decision on Saturday, May 5, 2007 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. The judges score cards read 115-113, 112-116 and 113-115. De La Hoya pressed the action stalking Mayweather throughout the fight and from where I sat it looked like De La Hoya did enough to win but two of the judges thought otherwise. The crowd booed the decision loudly yelling bullshit. Had judge Jerry Roth scored the 12th round for De La Hoya like the other two judges did the fight would have been a draw.
