Morongo Casino Boxing

Morongo Casino boxing started in 2005 when the Morongo tribe hosted its first sanctioned fight card promoted by All Star Boxing. From that point on Two Feathers promoted all the fights at the casino until Oscar De La Hoya's Golden Boy Promotions signed an agreement with Morongo to promote a series of fights at the casino.

De La Hoya promoted the casino's first live televised fight on September 28, 2007 headling WBO super bantamweight champion Daniel Ponce De Leon, a Tarahumara indian from Mexico. The support of loyal inland empire boxing fans for De La Hoya's fight cards at Morongo has been very successful ensuring more higher caliber fights at the casino in 2008.

Morongo Casino Resort & Spa is owned and operated by the Morongo Band of Mission Indians. Located in Cabazon, California about 90 minutes east of LA and 20 minutes west of Palm Springs it's one of the largest casinos in California. From a modest bingo hall in 1983, the Morongo Casino, Resort & Spa opened in 2004 currently spans 44 acre and is 27 stories high.
