Morongo Casino boxing started in 2005 when the Morongo tribe hosted its first sanctioned fight card promoted by All Star Boxing. From that point on Two Feathers promoted all the fights at the casino until Oscar De La Hoya's Golden Boy Promotions signed an agreement with Morongo to promote a series of fights at the casino. Commencing with the casino's first live televised fight card on September 28, 2007 headlining WBO super bantamweight champion Daniel Ponce De Leon, a Tarahumara indian from Mexico. Monthly fights continued through December 2008 then stopped until May 2011 when the casino reentered the fight game hosting fights televised live on FOX, ESPN2 and Showtime.
