Mia St John having earned a black belt in Tae Kwon Do made her professional debut as a boxer on February 14, 1997 at Fantasy Springs Casino in Indio, California. St John knocked out her opponent Angelica Villian (0-1-0, 0 KOs) in 54 seconds of round one earning her the nickname "The Knockout".

Mia St John St John has had numerous monikers bestowed on her throughout her boxing career. When she was featured on the cover of Playboy in November 1999 and in an eleven page boxing theme pictorial, the press critical of St John's boxing career dubbed her the "Bunny Boxer".

While Mia was under contract with Don King and Top Rank all of St John's fights were four rounds so she was crowned "Queen of the Four-Rounders".

Mia St John has fought top female boxers doing her professional boxing career such as Christy Martin, Jenifer Alcorn, Jessica Rakoczy and Holly Holm. St John's bouts have also been on the undercards of boxing legends including Arturo Gatti, Floyd Mayweather Jr, Johnny Tapia, Julio Cesar Chavez, Oscar De La Hoya and Roy Jones Jr.

Capitalizing on her boxing career, Mia St John is also a successful businesswoman. She has appeared dozens of times on TV, in magazines, commentates fights, promotes health products and created an exercise video called Mia St. John's Million Dollar Workout: Basic Training. St John also does non-profit work through El Saber Es Poder Foundation which helps further the education of Latinos in America.

Dierdorff vs St John

Mia St John fought Brooke Dierdorff, a late replacement for Rita Figueroa in a lightweight fight at the Star Plaza Theater in Merrillville, Indiana on Friday, April 20, 2007. St John lost by a 6-round split decision. Her left eye was almost swollen shut at the end of the bout.

On Saturday, June 14, 2008 at the Palacio de los Deportes in Mexico City, Mia St John beat Amy "Scrap Iron" Yuratovac (6-2-0, 6 KOs) from Indiana by 10-round majority decision. The judge's scores were 78-74, 79-73 and 76-76. In addition to her victory St John captured the vacant WBC International Female welterweight title.

Mia St John beat Columbian Darys Pardo (20-6-3, 16 KOs) by 8-round unanimous decision on Saturday, December 20, 2008 in Cozumel, Mexico winning the vacant WBC International Female lightweight title. It was a vintage performance for St John who said prior to the fight that this was likely her last before retiring.

St John fought challenger Veronica Mahling (2-2-0, 2 KOs) on Saturday, January 31, 2009 in an exhibition fight at the Albany Fairgrounds in Laramie, Wyoming on the same fight card as Tommy Morrison vs Corey Williams. The fight was aired on Gofightlive.tv.
