The Manhattan Center and its Hammerstein Ballroom and Grand Ballroom on Eighth Avenue at West 34th Street in the Big Apple have been home to regularly occurring boxing matches since 2000. Cedric Kushner was the first promoter to host fight cards at the Hammerstein Ballroom. Then Lou DiBella came on the scene and began promoting fights at its sister site, the Manhattan Center in 2004 as well as the Hammerstein Ballroom.
More recently DiBella has been showcasing a roster of exciting young fighters almost monthly at the Manhattan Center always guaranteeing New York boxing fans a great night at the fights with a bevy of boxing stars on the fight cards. Additionally Joe DeGuardia of Star Boxing along with matchmaker Ron Katz has put together a couple of real barnburner cards at the Manhattan Center lately featuring fan-favorites and up-and-coming New York area boxers.
