Kendall Holt lost by 12-round split decision to Danny Garcia (22-0-0, 14 KOs) in a WBO Inter-Continental light welterweight title fight on the undercard of Hopkins vs Dawson at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California on Saturday, October 15, 2011. The fight was also a WBC and IBF light welterweight eliminator. Scores were 115-113, 111-117 and 111-117. Holt controlled the fight in rounds one and two but in round three Garcia hurt Holt with a right hand. Over the course of the fight the younger Garcia outworked Holt and landed the more telling blows.

Holt vs Torres II
Kendall Holt beat Ricardo Torres (32-2-0, 28 KOs) by KO at 1:01 of round one on Saturday, July 5, 2008 at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas, Nevada. Just 13 seconds into round one Holt was downed by a right hand. He got up only to be downed again. After getting up a second time Holt managed to land a left hook to Torres body then the two collided heads and Holt hit the rocked Torres with a right hand as he was falling into the ropes where he remained for the rest of the fight. In addition to his victory Holt captured Torres' WBO light welterweight title.
On Saturday, December 13, 2008 at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey, Kendall Holt beat challenger Demetrius Hopkins (28-1-1, 11 KOs) by 12-round split decision in a WBO light welterweight fight . Scores were 116-112 and 117-111 Holt and 115-113 Hopkins who took the fight on a weeks notice. Holt's original opponent Ricardo Torres pulled out of their scheduled trilogy citing illness.
Kendall Holt lost to Timothy Bradley (24-0-0, 11 KOs) by 12-round unanimous decision in a WBC/WBO light welterweight title fight on Saturday, April 4, 2009 at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Scores were 112-115, 111-114 and 111-114. Holt scored knockdowns in round one and twelve but it was not enough to win with judges favoring Bradley's higher work rate and aggression in the middle rounds. In addition to losing the bout Holt also lost his WBO light welterweight title.
On Saturday, February 27, 2010 at Ballys Park Place Hotel Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey, Holt lost to South African Kaizer Mabuza (23-6-3, 14 KOs) by 6th TKO in an IBF light welterweight title eliminator fight. Holt had a good couple of rounds at the beginning of the fight but Mabuza took over in round three punishing Holt with power shots. Holt retired on his stool at the end of round six and did not come out for round seven.
Kendall Holt beat Lenin Arroyo (20-15-1, 4 KOs) by TKO at 1:50 of round one on the undercard of Alexander vs Bradley on January 29, 2011 at Silverdome in Pontiac, Michigan. Holt hit Arroyo with a short left to the chin that put him flat on his back on the canvas. Arroyo attempted to get up but was glassy eyed and dazed prompting the referee to wave off the fight.
Holt defeated former IBF lightweight champion Julio Diaz (38-7-0, 27 KOs) by TKO at 2:37 of round three in a light welterweight bout on ESPN Friday Night Fights on May 13, 2011 at the Chumash Casino in Santa Ynez, California. A left downstairs followed by a left upstairs sent Diaz down hard to the canvas. Diaz beat the count but was on shaky legs as the referee stopped the contest. Diaz was cut over the left eye from a clash of heads in round one. Holt, known as a dangerous fighter in the early rounds of a fight is now 2-2 in his last four bouts.
