Kassim Ouma lost to former Contender contestant Cornelius Bundrage by a 10-round unanimous decision on Friday, March 28, 2008 at the Seneca Allegheny Casino in Salamanca, New York on ESPN2 Friday Night Fights. It was an ugly fight to watch because of Bundrage's excessive holding and clinches. Referee Steve Smoger took a point away from Bundrage for holding after several warnings but even that didn't stop the limited fighter Bundrage from doing it.
Ouma once known for his running combinations and fast paced fights hasn't been the same since his loss to Jermain Taylor in December 2006. The Ouma that fought Bundrage on Friday night didn't resemble the Ouma who used to throw over a hundred punches a round and moved forward like a tank impervious to blows. Ouma only fought once in 2007 so is it rust or has he lost his desire to box?
