Jorge Arce beat Martin Castillo (35-4-0, 18 KOs) by 1st round KO in a super bantamweight fight on Saturday, July 31, 2010 at El Palenque de la Feria in Tepic, Nayarit, Mexico. A body shot to the liver put Castillo down for the count at 2:56 of round one. Castillo was on a comeback winning his last two fights after retiring in 2008 after a brutal KO loss to Fernando Montiel. Arce has now won his last three fights after losing to Simphiwe Nongqayi in 2009. Arce vs Castillo card promoted by Bob Arum of Top Rank aired live on FOX.

Jorge Arce vs Hussein Hussein I
In Jorge Arce's most notable fight on March 19, 2005 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas with blood pouring from a very deep gash across his nose, Arce won a classic bout scoring a brutal 10th round TKO over Hussein Hussein. Arce nailed Hussein with a counter left hook to the chin sending Hussein careening across the ring. Not missing a beat Arce continued the onslought remorselessly hammering away at Hussein with a flurry of punches including an overhand right to the face and a left hook to the jaw pinning Hussein defenseless in the corner. Hussein sank to the canvas on his knees as his trainer Jeff Fenech climbed thru the ropes and referee Vic Drakulich waved off the bout at 2:07 of the 10th round. Jorge Arce was selected as one of the best boxers of the year by the WBO in addition to selecting the Jorge Arce vs Hussein Hussein I bout as one of the best fights of 2005.
In a rematch with Hussein Hussein on October 8, 2005 in Las Vegas, Nevada, Jorge Arce won a 2nd round TKO. Hussein's trainer Jeff Fenech throws in the towel after Hussein suffered a flash knockdown in round one and was downed again in round two. Some faulted Fenech for stopping the fight so early on. But Arce said he could tell Hussein couldn't take any of his shots and that he thought Hussein was still hurt from their fight in March.
On September 23, 2006 in front of a sold out crowd at Dodge Arena in Hidalgo, Texas Jorge Arce beat Masibulele Makepula over four rounds, battering Makepula in the 3rd round and dropping him in the 4th.
Jorge Arce dominated Julio Roque Ler winning a 12-round unanimous decision at the Honda Center in Anaheim on January 27, 2007. Ler covered up, laid against the ropes, unwilling to engage in exchanges except for an occassional spurt for the entire bout. Arce nailed Ler with a big left hook in the 11th round leaving him in trouble but Ler was able to save himself by limping claiming that he was hit with a low blow to the hip causing the referee gave him time to recover saving Ler from possibly being stopped.
On April 14, 2007 Jorge Arce was demolished by Cristian Mijares who repeatedly tatooed him with whistling combinations taking advantage of Arce's lack of defense. Arce, bleeding from cut on the bridge of his nose and several around his eyes went the distance finishing the fight on his feet. Mijares won by an overwhelming 12 round unanimous decision breaking Arce's string of 26 consecutive wins.
On Saturday, December 1, 2007 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Jorge Arce, the "fighting son of a gun" got rid of challenger Medgoen Singsurat in just 48 seconds of round one with a body shot. Medgoen Singsurat is no slouch either. He and Rustico Torrecampo are the only two boxers to have knocked out Manny Pacquiao. It was also Arce's first defense of the WBC Latino bantamweight title he won on September 16, 2007 when he beat speedy southpaw Tomas Rojas by 6th round TKO.

Jorge Arce turned a fight around on September 9, 2007 beating southpaw Tomas Rojas by flooring him with a left hook to the body, then finishing him off after he rose from the canvas forcing referee Joe Cortes to stop the bout at 1:00 of the 6th round.
Jorge Arce beat Thai Devid Lookmahanak (18-2-0, 9 KOs) by 12-round majority decision in a WBC super flyweight title eliminator fight in front of a crowd 18,000 at Plaza Monumental in Aguascalientes, Mexico on Saturday, May 17, 2008. The judges score cards read 115-113, 115-114 and 114-114. Arce scored a flash knockdown of Lookmahanak in round seven.
Jorge Arce beat Panamanian Rafael Concepcion (11-3-1, 7 KOs) by 9th round RTD capturing his WBA super flyweight interim title on Monday, September 15, 2008 at Arena Mexico in Mexico City. In a back and forth slugfest Arce hurt in round 4 battled his way back to dominate Concepcion in rounds eight and nine causing Concepcion to retire on his stool. Concepcion became the WBA interim champion by beating previously undefeated AJ Banal in July 2008 in Cebu City, Philippines.
Jorge Arce beat former WBO flyweight champion Isidro Garcia (25-6-2, 8 KOs) by 4th round TKO in an interim WBA super flyweight title fight on Saturday, November 1, 2008 at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, Nevada. Fighting on the Chavez vs Vanda II undercard Garcia was down in round four from a body shot. Arce now has five back-to-back wins since his loss to former super flyweight champion Cristian Mijares in April 2007.
On Saturday, February 7, 2009 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California, Jorge Arce lost to IBF/WBA/WBC Super Flyweight Champion Vic Darchinyan (32-1-1, 26 KOs) by TKO when the ring doctor stopped the fight at the end of round eleven. At the time of stoppage scores were 109-100 on all three judge's scorecards. Although Arce was outmatched throughout the bout he landed some good shots in round three and bloodied Darchinyan.
Jorge Arce beat Philippino Fernando Lumacad (19-2-2, 7 KOs) by 3rd round knockout in a 12-round super flyweight fight on Saturday, June 27, 2009 at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Arce now working with legendary trainer Nacho Beristain hit Lumacad with a hard right knocking him down to the canvas where he was counted out by the referee at 0:35 of round three. Arce vs Lumacad took place on the Juan Manuel Lopez vs Olivier Lontchi card dubbed Latin Fury 9 promoted by Bob Arum of Top Rank in association with Caesars Atlantic City.
Jorge Arce in his best performance of late beat Indonesian Angky Angkota (23-5-0, 14 KOs) by 7th round technical decision on Saturday, January 30, 2010 at the Restaurante Arroyo in Mexico City, Mexico. The fight went to the scorecards when Ankota suffered a fight stopping cut over his right eye from an accidental headbutt. Scores were 60-54, 60-54 and 58-56 all for Arce. In addition to his victory Arce took home the vacant WBO super flyweight title. Arce, now a four time world title holder was coming off a loss to Simphiwe Nongqayi (16-0-0, 6 KOs) in an IBF super flyweight title on September 15, 2009 at the Plaza de Toros in Cancun, Mexico.
Jorge Arce beat Mexican Cecilio Santos (24-14-3, 14 KOs) by 7th round KO in a bantamweight bout on Saturday, April 24, 2010 at the Centro de Usos Multiples in Ciudad Obregon, Sonora, Mexico. Arce dropped Santos for the count at 0:58 of round seven. The fight card was promoted by Bob Arum of Top Rank and Fernando Beltran of Promociones Zanfer and was televised live on FOX.
