John Duddy, WBC continental americas middleweight champion won his first title on March 16, 2006 at Madison Square Garden in New York when he beat Shelby Pudwill by a 1st round TKO. Duddy successfully defended his title on June 10, 2006 at Madison Square Garden with his victory over Alfredo Cuevas by 7th round RTD when Cuevas corner stopped the fight before the 8th round.
On September 29, 2006 at Madison Square Garden in New York John Duddy proved he is a fighting Irish when he fought his toughest opponent, former junior middleweight world champion Yory Boy Campas beating him by a 12-round unanimous decision.
On St. Patrick's Day Eve, March 16, 2007 at Madison Square Garden in front of a packed house John Duddy and former Contender contestant Anthony Bonsante went to war. Bonsante, cut from an accidental clash of heads was kept on his stool after the 9th round. Duddy wins by TD keeping his IBA Middleweight title and capturing the WBC Continental Americas Middleweight belt. As Graham Houston said Irish eyes should be smiling by the ninth round

John Duddy shut out Dupre Stickland by a 10-round unanimous decision at Beacon Theatre in New York on May 19, 2007. Duddy dropped Strickland in the 1st round but Strickland recovered and proceeded to cut Duddy twice making the Irishman work for his win.
After fighting Stickland, John Duddy returned home and fought in front of his Irish fans at National Stadium in Dublin, Ireland where he boxed as an amateur before turning pro in 2003 in New York. While in Ireland Duddy fought and beat Alessio Furlan by 10th round TKO, Prince Arron by 2nd round TKO and decisioned Howard Eastman.

Duddy was coming off a controversial 10-round majority decision win over Walid Smichet on Saturday, February 23, 2008 at Madison Square Garden in New York.
Fighting on the undercard of Cotto vs Jennings, John Duddy beat challenger Matt Vanda (39-9-0, 22 KOs) by 10-round unanimous decision on Saturday, February 21, 2009 at Madison Square Garden in New York. The judge's scores were 99-91, 99-91 and 97-93 all for Duddy.
John Duddy lost his "O" in a 10-round middleweight fight to Billy Lyell (19-7-0, 3 KOs) of Youngstown, Ohio by 10-round split decision on Friday, April 24, 2009 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. Scores were 97-93 for Duddy and 96-94 and 98-92 for Lyell. Duddy's loss to Lyell who is trained by Kelly Pavlik's trainer Jack Loew could cost Duddy plenty as he was looking forward to a fight with Kelly Pavlik or Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.

Scores were 80-73, 79-73 and 89-73. Duddy vs Munoz took place on the untelevised undercard of Latin Fury 12 promoted by Bob Arum of Top Rank, Ahmet Oener of Arena Box-Promotion and Ivan Rivera of Puerto Rico Best Boxing which co-featured Juan Manuel "Juanma" Lopez vs Rogers Mtagwa and Yuriorkis Gamboa vs Whyber Garcia.
John Duddy beat Mexican Michael Medina (23-2-2, 18 KOs) by 10-round split decision on Saturday, March 13, 2010 at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Scores were 96-93, 96-93 and 93-96. Medina lost a point in round eight for low blows. Duddy vs Medina took place on the televised portion of the Pacquiao-Clottey undercard and aired live on HBO PPV.
