Jason Litzau lost to Adrien Broner (21-0-0, 17 KOs) by TKO at 2:58 of round one in a WBC USNBC super featherweight title on the undercard of Saul Alvarez vs Ryan Rhodes on Saturday, June 18, 2011 at Arena VFG in Guadalajara, Mexico. Litzau started out slow like he always does but Broner caught him with a good right hand then jumped on him. It was a straight right flush on Litzau's chin. Broner followed up with a barrage of punches which included a right upper cut the finished Litzau off. Litzau went down to the canvas falling head first over the bottom rope prompting the referee to wave off the fight.

Jason "The American Boy" Litzau
Jason Litzau son of alcohol and drug addicted parents turned his life around with boxing. In the amateurs Litzau was the Silver Gloves National Champion, won second place in the 2001 US Championships and earned a spot on the 2001 Olympic team.
Litzau served as a sparring partner for Auturo Gatti in his preparation for his fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr in 2005 which explains why some compare Litzau to Gatti. As Gatti's fights were Litzau's fights are fun to watch. Litzau's offensive attack, long power shots, knockout power, tendencity to engage in a brawl and desperation to win makes an exciting fight.
On December 16, 2006 Jason Litzau suffered a setback losing by way of an 8th round knockout to Jose Hernandez. Litzau, also dropped in round one, rallied and took contol of the fight was leading on all scorecards until he was caught by a huge overhand right that sent him crashing to the canvas.
Jason Litzau, The American Boy is back on track after his loss to Hernandez winng a 10-round unanimous decision over Aldo Valtierra on April 25, 2007 at the Roy Wilkins Auditorium in St Paul, Minnesota. Litzau traded leather throughout the bout flooring Valtierra with a left-right combination following an 8th round head butt.
On August 17, 2007 at Harrah's Rincon Casino in Valley Center, California, Jason Litzau scored an impressive 2nd round knockout of Emmanuel Lucero. Having been dropped by Litzau in the end of round one and again in round two the former super bantamweight champion Lucero announced his retirement immediately after the bout.
Continuing on his winning streak Jason Litzau beat Edel Ruiz by unanimous decision on Friday, November 23, 2007 at Staples Center in Los Angeles in a 10-round bout on the Vargas-Mayorga undercard.
Litzau lost a brutal fight to Robert Guerrero by KO at 2:25 of round eight on Friday, February 29, 2008 at the Tachi Palace Casino in Lemoore, California. Litzau visited the canvas twice in round eight beating the count the first time but unable to find his legs after being flatten on his back the second. This failed featherweight title shot attempt for Litzau comes after three back to back wins following his loss to Jose Hernandez in December 2006.
Jason Litzau beat Phillip Payne (16-23-1, 8 KOs) of Saint Louis, Missouri by 5th round TKO on Saturday, April 18, 2009 before a crowd of 3,594 at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Whether Litzau's win over Payne who has now lost 10 bouts in a row and only has a 19.51% knockout rate means anything is hard to say.
On Saturday, August 15, 2009 at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum in Biloxi, Mississippi Jason Litzau beat Verquan Kimbrough (21-2-2, 7 KOs) by 3rd round RTD winning the vacant NABF lightweight title. The fight was on the undercard of Roy Jones Jr vs Jeff Lacy.
Litzau beat Johnnie Edwards (15-5-1, 8 KOs) by 10-round unanimous decision on Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at the Corrosion Hangar in Camp Lejuene, North Carolina. Scores were 99-91, 98-91 and 97-93. In addition to his victory Litzau won the vacant NABF super featherweight title.
Jason Litzau, fighting on the Hopkins vs Jones II undercard beat Rocky Juarez (28-6-1, 20 KOs) by 7th round technical decision in a NABF super featherweight title fight on Saturday, April 3, 2010 at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, Nevada. Litzau suffered a mouse under his left eye from an accidental headbutt and could not continue. The fight was stopped at 3:00 of round seven and went to the scorecards. Litzau was ahead at the time of stoppage. Scores were 68-65, 67-66 and 67-66.
Litzau a 13-1 underdog beat Panamanian Celestino Caballero (34-3-0, 23 KOs) by 10-round split decision in a featherweight fight on the undercard of Juan Manuel Marquez vs Michael Katsidis at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada on Saturday, November 27, 2010. Scores were 97-93, 96-94 and 94-96. The difference was that Litzau threw the harder more telling power punches while Caballero is a slapper. Caballero, current WBA Super World super bantamweight champion was coming off a unanimous decision win over Daud Cino Yordan.
