Home Depot Center Boxing

The Home Depot Center held its first fight card on June 19, 2004 headlining Marco Antonio Barrera vs Paulie Ayala. Barrera was coming off a loss to Manny Pacquiao as he stepped into the ring to fight former world champion Paulie Ayala. In front of throngs of wild cheering Mexican-American fans, the legendary Barrera proved that he was still an elite fighter by knocking out the highly regarded Ayala in the 10th round.

From the first fight in 2004 over half the fights at the Home Depot Center have been promoted by Golden Boy and aired live on HBO. Including all three fights of boxing's latest classic trilogy between Israel Vazquez and Rafael Marquez. The other fights have been promoted by Dan Goossen, Gary Shaw and Jeff Wald and nationally televised on Showtime and The Contender boxing reality show. On May 3, 2008, Oscar De La Hoya fought Steve Forbes in the first ever boxing event held in the center's 27,000 seat stadium. »

Home Depot Center Parking:

There are a number of onsite parking lots. Parking is expensive expect to pay about $20. Valet parking is also available for a much higher price.

The Home Depot Center spans 125 acres and is located on the campus of California State University, Dominguez Hills. Opened in 2003 the center consists of multiple venues including the Soccer Stadium which is home to Chivas USA and Los Angeles Galaxy, ADT Event Center and velodrome, Tennis Stadium and Track & Field Facility which is home to LA Riptide. Boxing matches are held in the Home Depot Center's outdoor 8,000 seat Tennis Stadium and 27,000 seat Soccer Stadium.
