Hard Rock Live Boxing (continued)
Hard Rock Live was the site of ESPN'S 2008 knockout of the year where Edison Miranda landed a big right hand knocking David Banks halfway out of the ring in the 3rd round on January 11, 2008. For seven seconds Banks lay motionless on his back teetering on the ropes about to fall out of the ring on his head. Finally he was able to grab the rope above him and fell back into the ring onto the canvas where he was counted out.
Then on April 23, 2008 Hard Rock Live was the site of another ESPN candidate for knockout of the year when Juan Urango knocked out Carlos Wilfredo Vilches in the 4th round with a devastating right hook that almost broke Vilches neck. Vilches was out cold as his head hit the canvas with a loud thud. There was no need for the referee to finish the count as Vilches lay motionless on the canvas. It was several minutes before he came to and was able to get up.
