Grady Brewer, winner of season two of The Contender defeated Brazilian Edvan Dos Santos Barros (11-12-1, 8 KOs) of Boca Raton, Florida by 8-round unanimous decision on Thursday, January 26, 2012 at the Coca-Cola Center, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. All three judges scored the bout the same 78-74 for Brewer.
In Brewer's previous fight on Thursday, December 21, 2011 at the Cox Convention Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma he lost by 10-round unanimous decision to Michael Medina (25-3-0, 19 KOs) of Los Angeles, California in a NABF light middleweight title fight. Scores were 92-99, 92-98 and 92-98. It was Brewer's first defense of his NABF title ending his short reign.

Grady "B.B./Bad Boy" Brewer
Grady Brewer, journeyman boxer became The Contender second season winner by beating Steve Forbes by 10-round split decision in the season finale at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on September 26, 2006. Underdog Brewer, feinting, jabbing, and clinching outworked the favored Forbes both inside and outside. Brewer won The Contender belt plus the $500,000 purse and a truck.
Brewer, a hardworking fighter with a lot of heart previously fought undefeated middleweight champ Jermain Taylor and Peter Manfredo Jr from the first season of The Contender. Brewer won three consecutive fights at The Contender Gymnasium before winning the finale.
The Contender Boxing Team signed Grady "Bad Boy" Brewer, Steve Forbes, Cornelius Bundrage, Norberto Bravo, Freddy Curiel, Walter Wright, and Nick Acevedo from season two along with season one Contender Champion Sergio Mora, Peter Manfredo Jr, Alfonso Gomez and Jerson Revalo.
The Contender reality boxing series takes 16 welterweights and records their lives as they prepare and fight for The Contender belt and $500,000 prize. Each Contender epidsode ends with a 5 round boxing match usually held at The Contender Gymnasium in Pasadena, California. The winnner of the fight stays on the series and the loser leaves the show. Two fighters remain out of 16 for The Contender finale fight at the end of the season.
Brewer, who had not fought for almost two years since winning The Contender finale beat opponent Brandon Wooten (4-12-1, 2 KOs) by 3rd round TKO at the Comanche Casino in Lawton, Oklahoma on Friday, September 12, 2008. It was Wooten's 7th loss in a row.
On Thursday, November 13, 2008 at the Dunkin Donuts Center in Providence, Rhode Island, Grady Brewer beat Cornelius Bundrage (28-4-0, 16 KOs) by 10-round split decision. Scores were 94-91, 93-92 and 90-95. Both boxers had points deducted for holding. Brewer landed the better shots.
Grady Brewer lost to Erislandy Lara (10-0-0, 6 KOs) by 10th round TKO in a light middleweight fight on Friday, January 29, 2010 at The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada. Lara, a former Cuban amateur world champion who defected in March 2008 now fights out of Miami, Florida with fellow Cuban teammates.
On June 17, 2011 at the Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Texas fighting in the main event on ESPN Friday Night Fights Grady Brewer beat previously undefeated Fernando Guerrero (21-1-0, 16 KOs) by TKO at 2:16 of round four. A right hand hurt Guerrero in round four, then another right put Guerrero down on the canvas and half way through the ropes. Guerrero beat the count only to be downed by a right uppercut which prompted the referee to wave off the bout. In addition to his victory 40 year old Brewer also won the vacant NABF light middleweight title.
In Brewer's next fight, a non title fight he lost to Demetrius Andrade (14-0-0, 9 KOs) by 10-round unanimous decision on Friday, August 19, 2011 at the Horseshoe Casino in Hammond, Indiana. Brewer was cut over his left eye in round nine by an accidental headbutt. Scores were 92-98, 91-98 and 91-90.
