Grady Brewer aka "Bad Boy", journeyman boxer fought former world champion Steve Forbes in the second season of The Contender's finale fight in Los Angeles at The Staples Center on September 26, 2006 winning by a 10-round split decision. Brewer won The Contender belt plus the $500,000 purse and a truck.

Brewer, from Oklahoma is a 35 year old hardworking fighter with a lot of heart. Brewer had previously fought undefeated middleweight champ Jermain Taylor and Peter Manfredo Jr from the first season Contenders. Brewer won three consecutive fights at the Contender Gymnasium before winning The Contender finale.

The Contender Boxing Team signed Grady "Bad Boy" Brewer, Steve Forbes, Cornelius Bundrage, Norberto Bravo, Freddy Curiel, Walter Wright, and Nick Acevedo from season two along with season one Contender Champion Sergio Mora, Peter Manfredo Jr, Alfonso Gomez and Jerson Revalo.

The Contender reality boxing series takes 16 welterweights and records their lives as they prepare and fight for The Contender belt and $500,000 prize. Each Contender epidsode ends with a 5 round boxing match usually held at The Contender Gymnasium in Pasadena, California. The winnner of the fight stays on the series and the loser leaves the show. Two fighters remain out of 16 for The Contender finale fight at the end of the season.
