Glen "Road Warrior" Johnson

(50-13-2, 34 KOs)

On Saturday, April 12, 2008 at the Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, Florida, Glen Johnson pressed the action for 12-rounds, rocked Dawson in rounds three and ten and outworked the younger man in rounds eleven and twelve yet Johnson lost the bout when it went to the scorecards. Scores were 112-116, 112-116 and 112-116. Sure Dawson throws a lots of punches and combinations but like Paul Williams in the fight with Margarito, Dawson's punches are pitty-pat punches. If you saw Johnson's face after the fight he doesn't have a mark yet Dawson was all swelled up post fight. That's because Johnson sets his punches when he hits you. Johnson has power.

Coming off his loss to Chad Dawson the former light heavyweight champion Glen Johnson beat Aaron "The Assassin" Norwood (26-10-2, 13 KOs) by 4th round TKO on Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at the Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, Florida. Referee Brian Garry stopped the fight in round four with Norwood being outgunned throughout the match.

Johnson took the fight to Daniel Judah (23-4-3, 10 KOs) beating him solidly by 10-round unanimous decision on Friday, February 27, 2009 in a light heavyweight fight at the Seminole Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, Florida. Johnson, at 40 years old fighting as the main event on ESPN2 Friday Night Fights showed no signs of ring age except smarts. Johnson knocked down Judah in round one with a big right hand and continued punish to him with punches to the body followed by punches to the head round after round. Scores were 99-89, 99-90 and 99-90. This win for Johnson avenges a controversial draw with Judah in 2003.

On Saturday, November 7, 2009 at the XL Center in Hartford, Connecticut, Johnson lost his rematch with Chad Dawson (28-0-0, 17 KOs) by 12-round unanimous decision. Scores were 113-115, 113-115 and 111-117. Although Johnson took the fight to Dawson and tried to draw him into a brawl, Dawson stayed on outside using speed and movement to outpoint Johnson. The two fought in April 2008 with Dawson winning by a close unanimous decision but this time there was no question who won.
