ESPN Friday Night Fights weekly series debuted October 2, 1998 as ESPN2 Friday Night Fights aka ESPN2 FNF with host Brian Kenny, studio analyst Max Kellerman, blow-by-blow commentator Bob Papa and ringside analyst Teddy Atlas. Then in May of 2003 Teddy got a new blow-by-blow commentary partner, Joe Tessitore. It wasn't always just Friday Night Fights either, ESPN also put on Tuesday Night Fights and Wednesday Night Fights over the years.
ESPN Friday Night Fights' 13th season in 2011 saw 31 fight cards which included 3-D telecasts. At the microphones ringside and in studio were blow-by-blow commentator Joe Tessitore, ringside analyst Teddy Atlas and studio host Brian Kenny. In 2012 ESPN2 and ESPN3 Friday Night Fights will have a total of 30 fight cards beginning January 6, 2012.

ESPN Friday Night Fights History
ESPN2 Friday Night Fights premier card on Friday, October 2, 1998 was held at the legendary Blue Horizon in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
The fight card was promoted by J. Russell Peltz of Peltz Boxing Promotions and headlined Thomas Tate vs Demetrius Davis in a NABF super middleweight title fight.
That night Tate beat Davis by 12-round unanimous decision making his 2nd successful defense of his NABF title. Davis didn't fight again for nearly 9 years.
Joe Frazier's nephew Tyrone Frazier also fought on the card losing a 6-round unanimous decision to Sam Ahmad.
