Diego Magdaleno defeated Fernando Beltran (36-8-1, 20 KOs) of Tijuana, Mexico by 7th round TKO on Friday, March 23, 2012 at the Casino Del Sol in Tucson, Arizona. Beltran's corner threw in the towel at 2:28 of round seven with their fighter taking punches after suffering a knockdown earlier in the round. Although Magdaleno suffered a flash knockdown in round four he put on an impressive performance dominating Beltran from start to finish in the NABF super featherweight title fight.

Diego Magdaleno had a successful amateur run becoming the 2004 Western Olympic Trials (125 pounds) Gold Medalist, 2006 National PAL Championships (132 pounds) Silver Medalist and 2007 U.S. National Championships (132 pounds) Gold Medalist.

Fighting as a southpaw Magdaleno made his pro debut on Thursday, December 20, 2007 at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada where he beat Francisco Palacios (1-3-4, 1 KO) by 4-round unanimous decision with scores of 40-36 on all scorecards.

Magdaleno beat Manuel Perez (14-6-1, 3 KOs) by 10-round unanimous decision on Saturday, April 10, 2010 at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada. Fighting in his first 10 rounder as the co-featured event on FOX, Magdaleno dominated and outclassed Perez. Scores were 100-90, 99-91 and 97-93.

On Saturday, September 11, 2010 at the Palms in Las Vegas, Nevada on the undercard of Gamboa vs Salido, Diego Magdaleno beat Carlos Oliveira (25-2-0, 19 KOs) by 5th round TKO. In round two Magdaleno scored a knockdown with a right hook and in round five another from a combination of punches prompting referee Kenny Bayless to stop the fight at 1:13.

Fighting on Showtime on the undercard of Juan Manuel Lopez vs Rafael Marquez on Saturday, November 6, 2010 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada, Diego Magdaleno defeated Derrick Campos (20-10-0, 11 KOs) by 4th round TKO. Magdaleno scored knockdowns in round one, round three and round four.

Diego Magdaleno beat Marcos Leonardo Jimenez (18-3-0, 12 KOs) by 5th round TKO in front of a crowd of 1505 at the Texas Station Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada on Saturday, January 22, 2011. Jimenez was down in round one. Magdaleno's speed, movement and power was too much for Jimenez whose corner threw in the towel at the end of round five. In addition to his victory Magdaleno won the vacant NABF super featherweight title that was previously held by Jason Litzau.

Magdaleno defeated Gilberto Sanchez Leon (31-9-2, 11 KOs) at 0:49 of round three by TKO in a NABF super featherweight title fight on ESPN Friday Night Fights on May 6, 2011 at Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. Magdaleno knocked Sanchez Leon into the ropes and down in round two with a left. In round three Magdaleno sent Sanchez Leon down to the canvas with a counter right. Sanchez Leon beat the count only to be knocked down for a third time from a barrage of punches prompting the referee to wave off the fight.

On Friday, July 15, 2011 at the Texas Station Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, Diego Magdaleno defeated Alejandro Perez (15-2-2, 10 KOs) by 10-round unanimous decision in a NABF super featherweight title fight televised live on Showtime. Scores were 99-90, 98-91 and 98-90. Magdaleno suffered a flash knockdown in round one from an overhand right. Perez lost a point for low blows in round two. Magdaleno controlled the rest of the fight outclassing Perez.

Magdaleno defeated Emmanuel Lucero (26-8-1, 14 KOs) by 10-round unanimous decision in a NABF super featherweight title fight on Friday, November 11, 2011 the eve of Pacquiao vs Marquez fight at Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada. Scores were 100-89, 100-88 and 100-87. Already badly cut over the bridge of his nose Lucero was nearly down in round seven from right left to the nose, the ropes held him up. Getting past gritty Lucero who fought and lost to Manny Pacquiao in 2003 should get Magdaleno a legitimate title shot in 2012.
