Delvin Rodriguez defeated Pawel Wolak (29-2-1, 19 KOs) by 10th round unanimous decision in a light middleweight rematch on the undercard of Cotto vs Margarito II at Madison Square Garden in New York on Saturday, December 3, 2011. Scores were 100-90, 98-91 and 98-92. Wolak took rounds one and two on two of the judges's scorecards but in round four Rodriguez rocked Wolak with a right uppercut to the chin and took command of the fight. In the 10th and final round Rodriquez came out strong landing 65 power shots and rocked Wolak again. In addition to Rodriguez's victory he also took home the IBA Intercontinental light middleweight title.

Delvin Rodriguez
Delvin Rodriguez born in the Dominican Republic and now living in Danbury, Connecticut is one of boxing's hottest up and coming welterweight prospects. Known for his knockout power in both hands, Rodriguez has produced more KO highlights on ESPN2 than any other boxer.
Delvin Rodriquez made a big impression on national TV on ESPN on Tuesday, August 24, 2004 at the Mid-Hudson Civic Center in Poughkeepsie, New York. Rodriguez knocked his opponent, Allen Conyers through the ropes and out of the ring face first on the concrete floor. Rodriguez went on to win the bout by 6-round unanimous decision. The scores were 59-54, 59-54 and 59-54.

On Friday, March 23, 2007 at Foxwoods in Mashantucket, Connecticut, Delvin Rodriquez lost to Jesse Feliciano (15-5-3, 9 KOs) by 8th round KO. Ahead on the scorecards, Rodriguez got hit with a right in round eight and ended up tasting the canvas three times before the fight was stopped. Rodriguez also lost his USBA welterweight title.
Delvin Rodriquez beat previously undefeated Troy Browning (20-1-1, 8 KOs) by 10-round unanimous decision on February 15, 2008 at the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut. The scores were 100-90, 100-90 and 99-91. It was one of Rodriquez's best performances to date. He showed that he is a multi-dimensional fighter that can mix it up and box as well as bang.
On Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at the Municipal Auditorium in San Antonio, Texas on ESPN2 Wednesday Night Fights, Delvin Rodriquez beat Oscar Diaz (26-3-0, 12 KOs) by 10th round TKO capturing the USBA welterweight title. Just before round eleven Diaz collapsed in his corner losing consciousness. He was rushed to University Medical Center in San Antonio where he underwent brain surgery for a subdural hematoma. Diaz remained in a coma for two months before waking up on September 17, 2008.
Delvin Rodriquez fought to a draw in a 12-round IBF welterweight title eliminator bout against South African Isaac Hlatshwayo (28-1-1, 10 KOs) at Emperor's Palace in Kempton Park, South Africa on Monday, November 17, 2008. Initially the bout was announced a split decision win for Isaac Hlatshwayo but later it was found that the scores were added wrong on the master tabulation sheet and the result was changed to a draw. Scores were 117-110, 114-114 and 112-115.
On ESPN2 Friday Night Fights at the Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, Connecticut on Friday, March 6, 2009 Delvin Rodriguez beat challenger Shamone Alvarez (20-2-0, 11 KOs) by 12-round unanimous decision in an IBF welterweight title eliminator fight promoted by Joe DeGuardia's Star Boxing. Scores were 115-112, 114-113 and 114-113. Despite a possible broken right wrist Rodriguez downed Alvarez with a straight right in round eleven. Both fighters had each other hurt in round twelve.
Delvin Rodriquez lost to Isaac Hlatshwayo (29-1-1, 10 KOs) by 12-round split decision on Saturday, August 1, 2009 at the Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, Connecticut. Scores were 115-113 for Rodriguez and 116-113 and 116-112 for Hlatshwayo. In addition to his victory Hlatshwayo took home the vacant IBF welterweight title. Rodriguez and Hlatshwayo fought to a draw in November 2008 in an IBF welterweight title eliminator fight.
On Friday, April 2, 2010 at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut, Rodriguez beat Mike Arnaoutis (22-5-2, 10 KOs) by 12th round unanimous decision. The judges scores were 119-108, 118-109 and 117-110.
Rodriguez lost a controversial 10-round majority decision to Ashley Theophane (27-4-1, 7 KOs) on Friday, July 30, 2010 at the Buffalo Run Casino in Miami, Oklahoma. Scores were 95-95, 94-96 and 94-96. Teddy Atlas saw the fight eight rounds to two for Rodriguez. The crowd booed the decision. Rodriguez was clearly robbed. Each round saw good two way action with Rodriquez landing the harder more accurate punches. CompuBox punch stats showed Rodriquez landing 44% power punches to Theophane's 22%. Rodriguez hurt Theophane in round nine with a big overhand right. Theophane hung on and then got on his bicycle to survive the rest of the round.
On July 15, 2011 at the Roseland Ballroom in New York on ESPN Friday Night Fights, Delvin Rodriguez fought to a majority draw with Polish Pawel Wolak (29-1-1, 19 KOs) in a 10-round junior middleweight fight . Scores were 97-93, 95-95 and 95-95. Although Wolak pressured Rodriguez throughout the bout Rodriguez landed the more accurate punches. It was a hard fought fight for both fighters. The two traded toe-to-toe relentlessly from the opening to the final bell. By the 6th round Wolak's right eye was grotesquely swollen shut reminiscent of Fernando Vargas's when he fought Shane Mosley in 2006. Referee Steve Smoger said "It's ugly but I don't mind." Due to the nature of the fight and its being a candidate for fight of the year Rodriquez and Wolak will square off again later this year.
