David Haye couldn't back up his words losing by 12-round unanimous decision to Wladimir Klitschko (56-3-0, 49 KOs) of the Ukraine at the Imtech-Arena in Hamburg, Germany on Saturday, July 2, 2011. The judges scores were 110-116, 109-117 and 108-118 with Klitschko losing 1 point for pushing Haye down. In addition to his defeat David Haye lost his WBA Super World heavyweight title to Wladimir Klitschko. Haye had some success with overhands rights in round three and once in round twelve but other than that his performance was disappointing. Going down to the canvas multiple times during the bout from slips or Klitschko pushing him the referee finally gave him the count in round eleven. Haye blamed his loss on a broken toe he suffered three weeks ago.

David Haye, a British boxer had success in the amateurs winning a silver medal as a heavyweight at the 2001 World Amateur Boxing Championships in Belfast, North Ireland prior to making his professional debut in December 2002 in London, England.

Haye has only suffered one loss in his professional boxing career and that was to Carl Thompson on September 10, 2004 in Wembley. Haye, ahead on all the score cards outboxing Thompson ran out of gas trying to score an early knockout. Thompson had downed the fatigued Haye in the 5th round and Haye's corner threw in the towel.

Haye TKO Bonin

David Haye having moved up to the heavyweight division made a strong statement downing Tomasz Bonin three times in the opening round on April 27, 2007 at The Arena in Wembley, London. Bonin had previous only been stopped once in his career and that was at the hands of the then undefeated Audley Harrison in 2004.

Haye KOs Moreck

Haye captures Jean-Marc Mormeck's cruiserweight titles after flooring him in the 7th round on November 10, 2007 at Palais des Sport Marcel Cerdan in France. This was the second time in Mormeck's career that he had visited the canvas. The first time Mormeck was floored was on January 7, 2006 by O'Neil Bell.

David Haye destroyed Enzo Maccarinelli of Wales by 2nd round TKO in a cruiserweight unification bout on Saturday, March 8, 2008 at O2 Arena in Peninsula Square, London capturing Maccarinelli's WBO cruiserweight title. After an even first round Haye sent Maccarinelli to the canvas with a thundering right in round two. Referee John Keane stopped the bout at 2:04 as Maccarinelli rose stumbling on unsteady legs. In Haye's previous bout on Saturday, November 10, 2007 at Palais des Sport Marcel Cerdan in France, Haye climbed off the canvas in the 4th round scoring a 7th round TKO victory over Jean-Marc Mormeck. In addition to his win Haye took home Mormeck's WBC & WBA cruiserweight titles.

Haye beat Monte Barrett (34-7-0, 20 KOs) by way of 5th round TKO on Saturday, November 15, 2008 in a WBC Heavyweight Title Eliminator bout at the O2 Arena in London, England. Haye downed Barrett with a left right combination in round five prompting the referee to stop the bout at 1:28. Barrett was also knocked down four other times during the bout which turned into a slugging match from round three on. Haye was also down in round five before getting up to floor Barrett for a final time.

On Saturday, November 7, 2009 at the Versischerung Arena in Nuremberg, Germany, David Haye beat Nikolay Valuev (50-2-0, 34 KOs) by 12-round majority decision. Haye used the stick and move strategy to force Valuev to chase him around the ring for twelve rounds. In the final minute of round twelve Haye wobbled Valuev with a combination of punches. Scores were 116-112, 116-112 and 114-114. In addition to his victory Haye won WBA heavyweight title from Valuev.

David Haye beat John Ruiz (44-9-1, 30 KOs) in a WBA World heavyweight title fight by 9th round TKO on Saturday, April 3, 2010 at the M.E.N. Arena in Manchester, Lancashire, United Kingdom. Haye knocked Ruiz down twice in the 1st round, once in the 5th round and again in the 6th round. Haye lost a point for a rabbit punch in round one. Ruiz's corner threw in the towel in round nine prompting the referee to stop the fight at 2:01.

David Haye defeated former heavyweight champion and Olympic gold medalist Audley Harrison (27-5-0, 20 KOs) by 3rd round TKO in a WBA World heavyweight title fight on Saturday, November 13, 2010 at the M.E.N. Arena in Manchester, Lancashire, United Kingdom. Although Harrison was 40 pounds heavier and 2 inches taller than Haye he was hesitant to throw a punch. Haye's unloaded on Harrison in the 3rd round downing him but Harrison beat the count. The referee stepped in and stopped the bout at 1:27 of round three with Harrison taking blows and not answering.
