Chad Dawson lost by 11th round technical decision to underdog Canadian Jean Pascal (26-1-0, 16 KOs) in an WBC/IBO light heavyweight title fight on Saturday, August 14, 2010 at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Pascal rocked and hurt Dawson in the 7th, 8th and 9th rounds. In 11th round Dawson came out strong but a clash of heads opened up a large cut over Dawson's right eye which sent the fight to the scorecards. Scores were 103-106, 103-106 and 101-108. Dawson's excuse for losing the fight was that Pascal was headbutting him all night but in reality Pascal fought a very smart fight. In addition to being defeated Dawson lost his IBO light heavyweight title to Pascal and Pascal successfully defended his WBC light heavyweight title for the third time.

Chad "Bad" Dawson
Chad Dawson made his pro debut in 2001 after compiling an amateur record of 67-13. Additionally, Dawson was the 2000 US National Under-19 Amateur Champion at 165 lbs and former WBC youth middleweight champion.
Chad Dawson's wins of late include a 3rd round TKO over Jamie Hearn at the M.E.N. Arena in Manchester, England on March 4, 2006 on the Calzaghe-Lacy undercard. His 12-round UD victory over veteran boxer Eric Harding on June 2, 2006 after Dawson suffered a flash knockdown in round one, rallied and went on to win the bout and the NABF light heavyweight title. His capture of the WBC light heavyweight title on February 3, 2007 from previously unbeaten Tomasz Adamek and his 6th round TKO of Jesus Ruiz on June 9, 2007. Then Dawson went on to knocking out Epifanio Mendoza in round four at the Arco Arena in Sacramento, California on September 29, 2007.
Chad Dawson fighting on the same card as Tarver-Woods beat former light heavyweight champion Glen Johnson by 12-round UD on Saturday, April 12, 2008 at St Pete Times Forum in Tampa, Florida. The crowd booed the decision and Johnson who has had more than his share of bad decisions felt he had been robbed.
In an entertaining fight, Johnson, a solid proven fighter landed clubbing rights while Dawson racked up points with hand speed, high punch output and footwork from the outside. Dawson remains unbeaten after successfully defending his WBC light heavyweight title three times.
Chad Dawson beat Antonio Tarver (27-5-0, 19 KOs) by 12-round unanimous decision in an IBF and IBO light heavyweight title fight on Saturday, October 11, 2008 at Palms Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. Scores were 118-109, 117-110 and 117-110. The bout aired live on Showtime as part of a double header with Klitschko vs Peter fighting at the O2 World Arena in Berlin, Germany.
Chad Dawson beat former light heavyweight champion Antonio Tarver (27-6-0, 19 KOs) by 12-round unanimous decision on Saturday, May 9, 2009 in an IBF/IBO light heavyweight title rematch at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. Dawson was rocked in rounds seven and eleven by Tarver but Dawson held on. The judges scores were 117-111, 117-111 and 116-112 favoring the Dawson who was the busier of the two.
Chad Dawson defeated former light heavyweight champion Glen Johnson (49-13-2, 33 KOs) by 12-round unanimous decision in their rematch on Saturday, November 7, 2009 at the XL Center in Hartford, Connecticut. Dawson outpointed Johnson by sticking to his game plan staying on the outside and using his legs not letting Johnson draw him into a brawl this time. Scores were 117-111, 115-113 and 115-113. In addition to his victory Dawson retained his IBO light heavyweight title and won the interim WBC light heavyweight title.
