Calvin Brock lost a 12-round narrow split decision to Eddie Chambers in an IBF eliminator fight at the Emerald Casino in Tacoma, Washington on November 2, 2007. The fight was part of an IBF heavyweight title elimination tournament to decide who will get a shot at IBF heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko. Eddie Chambers will now go on to face Russian Alexander Povetkin who just won a tough, bloody IBF elimination fight against Chris Byrd that was the other half of the elimination tournament. The winner of the Chambers-Povetkin bout will face Klitschko for the title.

Calvin Brock holds a degree in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and was banker prior to earning a spot on the 2000 Olympics team.

Ringside Las Vegas: Brock, on the undercard of the Vargas-Mosley fight on February 25, 2006 at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas destroyed opponent Zuri Lawrence with a left hook in the 6th round that knocked him out cold. Lawrence was unconscious before he hit the canvas and remained completely motionless for several minutes. It was one of the most devasting one punch knockouts that I have ever seen. Ring Magazine later named it The Knockout of the Year for 2006.

On November 11, 2006 at Madison Square Garden in New York the undefeated Calvin Brock ended up face down on the canvas in the 7th round after Wladimir Klitschko stunned him by a sharp left followed by a big right. Although Brock beat the count referee Wayne Kelly determined he was in no condition to continue.

Brock returned to the ring on March 17, 2007 on the undercard of the Evander Holyfield fight in Corpus Christi where he scored a 1st round KO against Ralph West with a solid right that put West down for the 10 count. Continuing on his comeback, June 2, 2007, Brock down in the 3rd round went on to win an 8-round unanimous decision victory over Alex Gonzales.
