Breidis Prescott lost by TKO at 1:53 of the 10th round to Mike Alvarado (32-0-0, 23 KOs) of Colorado in a IBF Latino light welterweight title fight on the undercard of Pacquiao vs Marquez III on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. Prescott swept the first five rounds and was ahead on the scorecards at the time of stoppage. But in round ten Prescott was knocked down for first time in his pro career. He beat the count but seconds later he was caught by several uppercuts which had him hanging onto Alvarado. The referee separated the fighters and stopped the fight knowing that Prescott was hurt.

Breidis "Braidys" Prescott
Breidis Prescott of Barranquilla, Colombia made his debut in the United States on Friday, June 27, 2008 at the War Memorial Auditorium in Fort Lauderdale, Florida where he beat Cuban Richard Abril (10-1-1, 5 KOs) of Miami, Florida by 10-round split decision. Scores were 97-92, 95-94 and 94-95. (Prescott lost one point in round eight for a low blow.)
Breidis Prescott beat former British Olympian Amir Khan (18-1-0, 14 KOs) by 1st round knockout on Saturday, September 6, 2008 at the M.E.N. Arena in Manchester, Lancashire, United Kingdom. Khan was downed by left right power punches beating the count only to be downed again by Prescott and counted out at 54 seconds of round one. In addition to his knockout victory Prescott captured Khan's WBO Inter-Continental lightweight title.

Breidis Prescott won by 10th round DQ on Friday, February 20, 2009 on ESPN Friday Night Fights at the University Center Arena in Fort Lauderdale, Florida when his opponent Humberto Toledo (34-6-2, 20 KOs) from Ecuador bit him on the left supraclavicular area of his neck. Prescott, credited with a knockdown in round seven was winning the fight at the time of Toledo's disqualification. Toledo had lost one point for holding Prescott's head in round eight and two points for bitting Prescott in round ten before the referee stopped the bout and disqualified him.
Prescott lost to Miguel Vazquez (25-3-0, 12 KOs) by 10-round split decision on Friday, July 17, 2009 at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas, Nevada. Scores were 97-92 for Prescott and 96-93 and 95-94 for Vazquez. In round one Prescott floored Vazquez and it looked like Prescott was going to win by KO but Vazquez rallied, out-boxed and upset Prescott. Unfortunately Prescott who was looking to land his big knockout punch did not an opponent with a glass chin this time out.
On Friday, August 6, 2010 at the UIC Pavilion in Chicago, Illinois, Prescott beat Dominican Harrison Cuello (19-13-3, 14 KOs) by 10-round unanimous decision in a welterweight bout. Scores were 99-90, 99-90 and 98-91. Cuello was down in round nine. Prescott vs Cuello headlined the ESPN2 Friday Night Fights fight card promoted by Dominic Pesoli of 8 Count Productions and Denis Benoit of Vega Boxing Team.
Breidis Prescott defeated Mongolian Bayan Jargal (15-2-3, 10 KOs) by 10-round UD in a light welterweight bout on ESPN Friday Night Fights on April 22, 2011 at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut. Scores were 100-90, 99-91 and 99-90. Prescott in a near shutout controlled the fight with his double, triple jab and looping right hand. Prescott hurt Jargal with a left at the end of round one. In round five Prescott landed a barrage of lefts and rights to Jargal's head but the Mongolian's good chin kept him on his feet. Round eight was Jargal's round he got in close and stayed in close landing his left hook but he needed a knockout to change the course of the fight. Prescott wins by unanimous decision and Jargal adds another loss to his record.
Prescott lost by controversial unanimous decision to Paul McCloskey (23-1-0, 12 KOs) on Saturday, September 10, 2011 at the Odyssey Arena in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Scores were 113-114, 113-114 and 113-115. Prescott did well in the eary rounds knocking down McCloskey in round one, bloodying his nose in round two and wobbling him in round six but later in the fight Prescott seemed to tire.
