Tips on Buying and Collecting Boxing Tickets

Boxing tickets are one of the most sought after and collectible tickets in sports ticket collecting. Besides saving your boxing ticket or stub for sentimental value after the fight here are some things to consider when buying your boxing ticket about its potential value as a collectible.

Most boxing match tickets come perforated or made so they can be torn into two parts. The gatekeeper keeps the smaller part of the ticket and you keep the larger part as a receipt and to find your seat.

A complete untorn ticket is a full ticket. The smaller part is called the stub and the larger part is called the ticket minus the stub.

Full unused tickets with the stub still attached and no visible sign of being used are the most valuable. Then there are full used tickets which have holes punched in them and the stub still attached.

Stubless tickets are those that have been used to get into a fight and have the end torn off. The larger part of the ticket is more collectible than the stub whose value is far less.

Tickets with fighters pictures on them and the larger illustrated tickets from major casino fights are the most sought after while bland computer printed fight tickets purchased from Ticketmaster outlets and closed circuit telecast tickets are the least collectible.

When buying your boxing tickets online choose hard tickets rather than e-tickets or TicketFast which have no value at all to a collector.
