Bally's, formerly known as Bally's Park Place opened in 1979. It was the third casino in Atlantic City to open after gambling was legalized there in 1976. And as they say where casinos are boxing isn't far behind. The first fight card hosted at Bally's was on February 28, 1981 promoted by Murad Muhammad. Since then boxing promoters Bob Arum, Frank Gelb, Lou DiBella, Gary Shaw, Kathy Duva and Joe DeGuardia have promoted dozens of fights at Bally's over the years. »
