Arthur "King Arthur" Abraham

Abraham vs Taylor KO

(31-1-0, 25 KOs)

No need for a count. Arthur Abraham's well placed right had Jermain Taylor out before he hit the canvas.

Arthur Abraham beat Jermain Taylor (28-4-1, 17 KOs) by 12th round knockout in the first Group Stage 1 fight of the Super Six World Boxing Classic on Saturday, October 17, 2009 at the O2 World Arena in Berlin, Germany. Abraham received 3 points for his KO win. The knockout came during the last 15 seconds of round twelve reminiscent of Taylor's previous knockout at the hands of Carl Froch on April 25, 2009. Although Taylor boxed well in the first half of the fight Abraham took control the last half rocking Taylor in round seven and hurting him in round nine then finally knocking him out in spectacular fashion with a straight right in the final seconds of round twelve.

Arthur Abraham lost to Andre Dirrell (19-1-0, 13 KOs) by 11th round disqualification in Showtime's Super Six World Boxing Classic Group Stage 2 on Saturday, March 27, 2010 at the Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, Michigan. An unbalanced Abraham was knocked down for the first time in his boxing career in round four. Abraham was badly over the right eye by a headbutt in round eight which bleed profusely throughout the bout. Dirrell was knocked down by a straight right in round ten but Abraham did not get credit for a knockdown because referee Lawrence Cole ruled it a slip. Slow motion shots clearly showed that it was a punch that put Dirrell down on his ass on the canvas not a slip or a trip. Abraham hit Dirrell on the chin in round eleven and followed up with a right to the head not noticing that Dirrell's knee was already on the canvas. In a seemingly delayed reaction Dirrell fell on his back on the canvas knocked out. Abraham was disqualified for hitting Dirrell when he was down.
